Travis Kelce considers the “honor” of performing with Taylor Swift live and how the two of them came up with the concept

After making his stage debut on June 23 at girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” performance in London, Travis Kelce has been the talk of Swifties. Now, he’s opening up about how his unexpected appearance came to be.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said on the July 3rd episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” that he first considered joining Swift onstage at Wembley Stadium with his brother, Jason Kelce.

“It’s really not me at all,” the three-time Super Bowl victor jeered. “I don’t enjoy performing on stages.”

His brother questioned who came up with the notion as he and his wife Kylie Kelce attended Swift’s earlier London gigs.

“I told Tay about it at first. “I thought it would be hilarious if I simply rolled out on one of the bikes during the ‘1989’ [part of the show],” said Travis Kelce.

“She burst out laughing,” he said. “Would you really be up for doing something like that?” she said.

He expressed his desire to get associated with her.

He recalled, “I might as well put myself to work here—I’ve seen the show enough.”

She did, in fact, locate the ideal moment for me to enter the play. In case I bumped into someone else or something, there was no bike present. The younger Kelce clarified that it was the most secure choice.

In addition, he called attention to a few of Swift’s dancers, notably Kameron Saunders, the brother of Kelce’s former Chiefs teammate Khalen Saunders, and described how the dancers are attempting to revive Swift in the latter half of her act, the “Tortured Poets Department.”

“[They] know she can do it with a broken heart, so they’re trying to bring her back to life, get her ready to perform the rest of the show, so to speak.” he continued, referencing words from Swift’s song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” in the latter half.

According to Jason Kelce, that song might be his “favorite.”

According to Travis Kelce, “it’s such a fun, playful part of the show.” “I went up there at the ideal time and place to just be a ham and have some fun.”

Jim Carrey’s character in “Dumb and Dumber” served as the inspiration for one of his favorite maneuvers, which he got to “pull out” and said he had “an absolute blast” doing.

“I just made sure I played with Tay and applied her makeup correctly,” he continued.

He praised Swift and her dancers, calling it “an honor” to be on stage with them. He also praised Kam, mentioning how he and his brother won two Super Bowl championships and called him one of his “all-time favorite teammates.”

“You can do no wrong when Taylor’s onstage,” Travis Kelce remarked, expressing his lack of anxiety about making a mistake during his performance. He was apprehensive about “one thing,” though.

He brought Swift to a crimson sofa after entering the stage and then pantomimed getting the singer ready to resume her performance.

“Listen, the one piece of advice I gave myself was to “not drop the baby.” Don’t let go of this—don’t let go of Taylor while heading towards this fucking couch. “Do not drop Taylor getting her over to the couch,” was the golden rule, he remembered.

Travis Kelce also performed a heel-click dance routine when he was on stage.
